Estimation, Order Processing & Coordinating (Beginner / Intermediate Level)
Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Job Overview:
The British Columbia Door Company is a leading door manufacturer in South Vancouver seeking an Estimator / Order Processer & Coordinator with the ability to successfully estimate, quote, and coordinate through the full sales cycle, beginning at customer inquiry and finishing at coordination of the manufacturing process.
No industry experience is required as we will provide complete training for the right candidate.

What you will do:
Review client specifications via phone, fax, email, and walk-in clients.
Solicit pricing from internal sources, as well as external suppliers, for materials required to complete client requests.
Provide estimates & quotes to clients according to their specifications.
Generate internal work-orders and external purchase-orders based on estimates.
Coordinate receipt of external purchase-orders from suppliers for use in internal manufacturing.
Education:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Strong math skills are essential
AutoCAD (asset, but not required)
Languages:
Fluent Spoken English
Excellent Reading of English Mandatory
Second Language (asset, but not required)
Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have a basic understanding of math and units of measure
Able to lift 20+lbs
Essential Skills:
Numeracy (use a calculator to: add & subtract fractions, whole numbers, and convert fractions to decimals)
Ability to communicate effectively with employees from other departments
Continuous learning

General Woodworker & Machine Operator

Job Overview:
The British Columbia Door Company is a leading door manufacturer in South Vancouver seeking a general woodworker & machine operator who has the ability to use a number of woodworking machines, including various power & hand tools to build and prepare doors for hardware.
We welcome both experienced and non-experienced candidates to apply as we are willing to train the right person.

What you will do:
Breakout and process lumber
Operate chop saws, thickness planers, rip saws, re-saws, moulders, and shapers
Glue and clamp wood components
Install (glaze) glass into doors
Sand completed doors
Education:

Job Overview:
The British Columbia Door Company is a leading door manufacturer in South Vancouver seeking a general Wood Worker / Door Prehanger with the ability to successfully build and prehang interior and exterior residential wood doors.
We recruit individuals who are defined by their integrity, work ethic, 'can-do' attitude and focus on continuous improvement. We offer attractive wages as well as generous extended health and dental benefits for employees and their families.
What you will do:
Construct and assemble interior and exterior door frames to specification (standard and custom sizes as required)
Operate Woodworking Machines and various power / hand tools to build and prep doors for hardware such as knobs, latches, strike plates, hinges, flush bolts, etc
Education:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Languages:
Fluent Spoken English
Excellent Reading of English Mandatory
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to measure, cut, and assemble wood materials
Experience in operating woodworking machines
Able to read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists
Able to lift 50+lbs
Essential Skills:
Numeracy (use a calculator to: add & subtract fractions, whole numbers, and convert fractions to decimals)
Ability to communicate effectively with employees from other departments
