Clavos, Cross Braces, and Grilles
Enhance any B.C. Door design with the addition of clavos, cross braces, or a grille to create an authentic old-world rustic look.
Clavos
Decorative clavos imitate old fashioned spikes or nails that were once used as the primary means to fasten lumber for construction purposes.

Decorative clavos are often installed at the ends of planks or panels to add a rustic look or old fashioned charm.

Clavos can be special ordered in a variety of finishes, sizes, and shapes.
Pricing on clavos and clavos-preparation varies based upon door design and clavos option selected. Please ask your local B.C. Door dealer for available options on specific door patterns.
Cross-Braces & Strapping
In the past, metal cross braces were also used as a means to secure lumber used to make doors.

Imitate this rustic construction method with the addition of cross braces / strapping where there are millwork joints.

Butt-joint, Angle-joint, and T-joint braces can be special ordered in a variety of finishes to accommodate all door types.
Pricing on cross braces / strapping varies based upon door design. Please ask your local B.C. Door dealer for available options on specific door patterns.
Grilles
Old fashioned grilles were designed as a break-and-enter deterrent. While Grilles continue to add a level of security - based on modern day advancements - grilles are now mostly for aesthetic purposes.

Grilles can be special ordered in a variety of finishes, sizes, and shapes to cover over almost any opening.
Ideal for: doors with Speakeasy's, sidelites, and generally any glass opening where a rustic grille would fit the design motif.
Pricing on grilles varies based upon size. Please ask your local B.C. Door dealer for available options on specific door patterns.
